Quartz Countertops

Quartz is engineered in a factory. The primary ingredient is ground quartz (about 94 percent), combined with polyester resins to bind it and pigments to give it color. For some designs, small amounts of recycled glass or metallic flecks are added to the mix. Quartz countertops are stain & heat resistant, as well as easy to maintain. The non-porous quality of quartz also makes it highly resistant to mold and bacteria contamination. Quartz products are considered very dense and which make them very resistant to staining, scratching, cracking or chipping. Quartz countertops are easy to clean – a simple wipe down with soap and water. Also, quartz countertops do not harbor any mold, mildew or bacteria. Quartz does have some limitations compared to natural stone. Quartz slabs are 56″ x 119″, and the selection of color options is relatively smaller.
